Wifi Router as a repeater?

I've just moved in to a house with a few guys, and we have a modem and a wireless router set up on the first floor, but my room is on the second. I would like to be able to get xbox live in my room without purchasing the wireless adapter for my xbox. Is there anyway I could use my extra linksys router to repeat the signal and allow me to run a ethernet cable to my xbox?
