What words/phrases describe when you suddenly have a big realisation of your life, a changing moment?

I want to change my life around and i feel like i have had a sudden new focus on life and see where i need to head, not in a religious way, well i dont know, but just generally feel i know where i am heading now. Is there a way of describing this, i know there is a word, but also phrases, and ways to explian to others are welcome, i know this sounds an odd request!
