Being single for life?

I'm a 17 year old boy, and I've recently come to the realization that I'll probably be single for life. By being single, I'll always be able to do what I want, when I want to and not have to worry about dedicating my life to a family. Are there really any serious downsides to being single, besides paying high taxes and occasionally feeling lonely? I just think being single if for me, because I rarely interact with girls, am quiet, and not interested in chasing after girls. Anyone recommend the single life?
