Is it almost impossible to find the right person?

This for guys and girls. I'm 19 and I have to learn so much more in my life, but all I'm learning is that Mr/Miss Right is a myth. Most people in my life tend to settle for less when it comes to love, and wind up unhappy or full of regret. I just want to know if I should still wish for my artistic, romantic, bohemian, Intelligent, deep thinking hipster man or should I just come to the realization that he does not and will never exist? Because I rather know now than have my hopes ruined by harsh reality. I'm not trying to be negative, I just want to prepare myself.
