Why is it easier to make gay marriage legal then making pot legal?

Why does it seem that over the past few years that its deemed easlier for the government to say gay marraige is legal when in the bible it says its wrong in so many ways, but yet this same government wants to keep the legalization of marijuana from happening?? You would think that the conservatives would need the weed to smoke to get over the realization of the fags getting married.
